When looking at a finished work I realize that it is not only an expression but a reaction, a reaction to an environment. When I remove myself from one environment, whether it be a place or a group of people I find new methods of thought. These new methods conceive new ideas, thus new work is made.

A strong relationship and awareness with environment is very important because environment inspires a large portion of my work. Technique is also a big contributor and, finally, the innate perfection of the glass is in itself an inspiration. I am lead both by the viscous nature of the molten glass as I form it and by its fragile and translucent qualities when it has solidified. The basis for my aesthetic is to find harmony in the final composition, apply all the combined elements to create a sense of fluid motion.
